Sister Cobb

Hello!

My new companion is Sister Cobb! She is the sweetest! She's from Orem, Utah!

We've been sharing the Light the World video with others which has been so much fun! Also the Christ child video has come out and oh my goodness it is so so good! Everyone should watch it.

Sorry my email is so short, not too much happened this week. I hope y'all have an amazing Thanksgiving week. I'm so grateful for y'all and for the opportunity I have to serve!

 Love and miss y'all

"Tabling"

Transfers were this week and I'm staying in Fayetteville!!! I'm done with my training, so I'm a little scared! Sister Sharp has finished her mission and is going home sadly. She seriously has taught me so much, and has been the best trainer! I have no idea who my new companion will be, I find out this Wed.

On Wednesday Sister Sharp and I were at Wendy's eating dinner and a man asked us if we had any extra change for a homeless Monk...there's something about Wendy's and people thinking we are Nuns, lol.

Friday we had a lesson with a former investigator and his girlfriend. As always, we asked if we could pray before we started the lesson? He said, "yes, but we're not going to join if that's okay?" We've never had anyone not pray with us before, but we said ok? As Sister Sharp was saying the prayer the two of them were talking pretty loud the whole time, it was so weird. After our short lesson he started asking us questions about the Spirit and how do you know it's the Spirit? The conversation went on for 2 HOURS... you read that right 2 HOURS long. It was crazy and no matter what we said he wasn't convinced he could know the Spirit. The lesson didn't go how we expected. Maybe if he had prayed with us, he would have felt the Spirit?

Saturday our district went into downtown Fayetteville to do some "Tabling." That's where you find a high traffic area, set up a table, and share the gospel through a belief survey. The questions in the survey come from Preach my Gospel - Questions of the Soul. Some of the questions are: Is there a God? Is Jesus Christ the Son of God? Does God love you? Does God answer your prayers? The last question is - If there was a book that plainly answered all of these questions would you read it? At that point we then introduce them to the Book of Mormon. As people would pass by, we would ask them to take our survey. There were a lot of people on the street and in the area of our table. However, we didn't have many interested in taking our survey. Seemed like most of them were too busy playing Pokemon Go!!

A lot of lessons fell through this week which is always a bummer and hard. I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to share the gospel, nothing brings me more happiness!

Love and miss y'all!

"Nun Underwear"

This week was quite a week...

Thursday afternoon Sister Sharp and I got a call from the lady we met at Wendy's a couple of weeks ago. We had called her earlier just to see how she was doing, but she never answered. After talking to her for a little bit she told us she had some “Nun underwear." She ask us if we lived with any Nuns or if we knew where she could take the underwear. We weren't sure what "Nun underwear" was, but we explained that we don't live with Nuns or where she could take them. Sister Sharp and I were so confused and could not stop laughing after we hung up.

Chris was baptized and confirmed this weekend. Oh my goodness is all I can say! He was so ready to be baptized. He knows so much about the gospel. Sister Sharp and I were commenting on how he has actually taught us so much. It was such an amazing day and the Spirit was so strong when he was baptized and confirmed. He was so happy, he had the biggest smile ever after. It was seriously the best!

Saturday after Chris's baptism we had a lesson appointment. When she opened the door, she yelled to the other people in the house "Quiet, I have Christian people at my door." Before we started the lesson we asked if we could say a prayer? She said sure, and started calling everyone in the house to the living room. She had everyone stand in a circle holding hands with one another. Then we went around the circle and every single person said an individual prayer. I have never prayed like that before, ha ha. After the prayer we invited everyone to join the lesson. I guess the prayer wasn't very moving, cause everyone left except her son. Oh well, one is better than none! When we introduced the Book of Mormon her son said, oh you guys are the Mormons I was just researching about you guys last night. He turned to his mom and was like that's so crazy I was just reading about them. We gave them both a Book of Mormon and invited them to read it. It was such an amazing moment. There are no coincidences, God puts us where we need to be at the right times.

Love and miss y'all!

Happy Halloween

Wednesday night our ward did Trunk or Treat with the ward next to ours, that have the Elders. Sister Sharp & I had decided to dress up as "Elder Missionaries" for our Halloween costume! When we walked into the church; the elders were like "what the"....haha. It was pretty funny. They also dressed up as "Elders" meaning they didn't dress up in Halloween costumes at all, lame!

Halloween night we were visiting someone at the hospital just having a conversation when all of a sudden the lights went out. They came back on a few minutes later, so we didn't think it was a big deal. But when we drove out of the parking lot none of the traffic lights were working and it was pitch black, it was super creepy. We kept joking that a zombie apocalypse was happening. We were so scared haha.

The other day Sister Sharp & I went to drop off brownies at a members house. We didn't want them to know they were from us. The plan was to leave them on their porch and door bell ditch. It didn't work out that way! When I got up to the door I realised they had a camera doorbell. I panicked, dropped the brownies and ran back to the car. Since I hadn't even rang the door bell, Sister Sharp went back to ring the door bell. She tried to sneak up from the back and reach around to ring the bell so the camera wouldn't catch her. The members later texted us thanking us for the brownies and for the show! They said the camera caught the whole thing and that it was hilarious.

Chris is progressing great towards his baptism date. He is scheduled to have his baptism interview next week.

Anyways, I hope y'all have an amazing week.

Love, Sister Ogden
