"Tabling"
Transfers were this week and I'm staying in Fayetteville!!! I'm done with my training, so I'm a little scared! Sister Sharp has finished her mission and is going home sadly. She seriously has taught me so much, and has been the best trainer! I have no idea who my new companion will be, I find out this Wed.
On Wednesday Sister Sharp and I were at Wendy's eating dinner and a man asked us if we had any extra change for a homeless Monk...there's something about Wendy's and people thinking we are Nuns, lol.
Friday we had a lesson with a former investigator and his girlfriend. As always, we asked if we could pray before we started the lesson? He said, "yes, but we're not going to join if that's okay?" We've never had anyone not pray with us before, but we said ok? As Sister Sharp was saying the prayer the two of them were talking pretty loud the whole time, it was so weird. After our short lesson he started asking us questions about the Spirit and how do you know it's the Spirit? The conversation went on for 2 HOURS... you read that right 2 HOURS long. It was crazy and no matter what we said he wasn't convinced he could know the Spirit. The lesson didn't go how we expected. Maybe if he had prayed with us, he would have felt the Spirit?
Saturday our district went into downtown Fayetteville to do some "Tabling." That's where you find a high traffic area, set up a table, and share the gospel through a belief survey. The questions in the survey come from Preach my Gospel - Questions of the Soul. Some of the questions are: Is there a God? Is Jesus Christ the Son of God? Does God love you? Does God answer your prayers? The last question is - If there was a book that plainly answered all of these questions would you read it? At that point we then introduce them to the Book of Mormon. As people would pass by, we would ask them to take our survey. There were a lot of people on the street and in the area of our table. However, we didn't have many interested in taking our survey. Seemed like most of them were too busy playing Pokemon Go!!
A lot of lessons fell through this week which is always a bummer and hard. I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to share the gospel, nothing brings me more happiness!
Love and miss y'all!
